About NorthStar Clinical Services

NorthStar Clinical Services provides a three-level approach to the treatment of substance use and addiction. We utilize a skill-based methodology that encourages healing by analyzing and learning about the biological, psychological, and sociological components of sober life management. Holistic in nature, our program is based on cognitive-behavioral therapy and other effective techniques. Our outpatient addiction treatment center in Charlotte, NC, requires both group and individual therapeutic engagements and strongly encourages family involvement.

Aspects of our program include:

  • A staff full of licensed mental health clinicians
  • Screens to encourage accountability
  • Therapy that encourages the development of emotional regulation
  • Narrative therapy, which encourages the creation of new life scripts
  • Nationally and internationally accredited programs
  • Involvement in ongoing university graduate-level research, which contributes to our treatment

At NorthStar, we believe that recovery is a process and not an event. It requires biological, psychological, and social changes, which must be implemented daily and are best obtained through education, structure, and support. Recovery is a partnership between the client, NorthStar, and the client’s support system, where change incorporates the entire family unit.

Our Levels of Care

We provide outpatient addiction treatment at several levels of care:

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our PHP is a highly structured program that provides comprehensive and integrated care. It is designed to meet the needs of those who require intensive treatment but do not need 24-hour supervision. Clients attend treatment for six hours a day, five days a week, in a therapeutic setting.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our IOP is also an intensive program that is more flexible than our PHP and designed to meet the needs of individuals who need less structure or are transitioning from a PHP. Clients attend treatment for three hours a day, three times a week.

This may include individual and group therapy, along with other activities that promote recovery.

Outpatient Program (OP)

Our OP provides continued support as individuals transition from our higher levels of care. Clients attend treatment for one to two hours a week and participate in individual and group therapy as well as educational sessions.

Outpatient addiction treatment offers clients the freedom to continue their daily lives while receiving necessary support and guidance in managing recovery.

Aftercare and Sober Living

Recovery is an ongoing process and provide aftercare services to help clients maintain their sobriety. This may include weekly check-ins, additional therapy sessions, and connections to community resources.

We also offer sober living accommodations for those who need a safe and supportive environment as they transition back into everyday life. Our sober living homes provide structure, accountability, and a sense of community for individuals in recovery.

NorthStar provides a range of addiction treatment programs, including:

  • Evidence-based therapy programs, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), family therapy, group therapy, and individual therapy
